The Beholder is one of the most feared creatures in TTRPG history. A giant floating head covered in eyestalks, each one firing a different magical ray that can petrify, disintegrate, or just ruin your day. They're impossibly intelligent, impossibly arrogant, and convinced that every other creature in existence is either a threat or beneath them. Usually both. If your DM drops one of these in front of your party, someone's not making it home.
